Cecil Kruel was born on March 14, 1961 to Everett Kruel and Eva Mae Johnson in Chicago, Illinois and was the 7th of 9 boys.  Cecil attended Kenwood High School in 1975 and then enrolled in the Army in 1980.

After serving his country, Cecil entered the workforce as a welder for well over a decade.  Cecil loved his family working various jobs to provide for them.  Cecil happily married Mary Lynn Paytonin 1995 afterbeing together for10 years.  In 1997, he went back to school and studied to be a computer repair technician where he built and repaired laptops and home computers for family, friends and business associates.

Cecil was never one to shy away from a challenge.  He was sure to keep the environment competitive playing dominoes, 1500, softball and basketball.  Cecil also spent time as a head basketball coach of his kid’s middle school team and volunteered as a park district baseball coach, leading his boys to championships.

Cecil met Tracie Sanders in 2003 and welcomed his son Trevon into the world.  Cecil had a very kind heart and compassionate spirit.  He joined the church ministry later in his life in which he spent a lot of his time serving the church.  He stressed the importance of faith, love and prayer.
