Obituary
Bernard Cape Branch was born June 7, 1954 in Helena, Arkansas to Emmett Sims and Mae Francis Branch.
Bernard gave his life to Christ at an early age. He received his education from Van Vlissingen Elementary School of Chicago, Illinois.
Bernard was a very outgoing and loving person. Although Bernard has been paralyzed for the last 19 years, he never allowed his condition to weigh him down or take his joy. Bernard was always very playful and he loved watching movies and listening to music. Bernard was a huge Elvis Presley fan and his favorite song was, "Jail House Rock!"
Bernard was called home on Monday, July 2, 2018 at 12:10 p.m. in the care of the staff of Oak Lawn Respiratory & Rehabilitation Center, Oak Lawn, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his father, Emmett Sims and grandparents, Morris and Maggie Branch,
Bernard touched many lives and was loved by many. His memory will be forever cherished by his wonderful mother, Mae Francis Branch, his loving aunt/guardian, Emma Banks, one brother, Van Lee Branch and a host of other uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
We Will Miss You, Bernard!
God saw you getting tired
And a cure was not to be
So he put His arms around you
And whispered "Come to me."
With tearful eyes we watched you
As you slowly slipped away
And though we loved you dearly
We couldn't make you stay.
Your golden heart stopped beating
Your tired hands put to rest
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.
Love,
Aunt Emma
